With the ubiquity of smartphones and apps there are many new options in finding a sexual partner. Dating and related behaviours have changed a lot also in recent years and the emergence of dating websites and apps like Tinder and Grindr are both just two of a large number. People’s attitudes towards casual sex and dating have also very much softened, with casual sex being a lot more acceptable in today’s modern world. The ease of finding a new partner within a short space of time through online avenues is without doubt a major driver of this swing in attitude. What people and men in particular need to realise though is that this less severe attitude or acceptance of casual sex as the norm has its own downsides. While casual sex is very much enjoyable and isn’t to be frowned upon, the key element is that casual sex needs to be practised safely in order to prevent the spread of unwanted sexually transmitted diseases. Check out our infographic below which shows more of this interesting data and see what you believe to be the main reasons for the rise.
